India has become a dependable sourcing base for modules, mounting structures, cables and balance-of-system items for projects across the GCC. The savings are real, but only when the supply is planned as carefully as the installation.
1. Lock the technical specification first
Confirm module type and wattage, inverter topology, MMS material and coating, and cable standards against the local utility and consultant requirements before any quotation is compared. Ambient temperature, dust and wind-load assumptions in the Gulf differ from Indian defaults.
2. Agree the approved makes
List acceptable brands for each major item. Where the project owner or consultant has an approved vendor list, share it at RFQ stage so alternates are not proposed late.
3. Define pre-dispatch inspection
Specify what will be checked before dispatch — model and quantity, visual condition, datasheet and certificate match, packing — and who witnesses it. Inspection records should travel with the shipment documents.
4. Consolidate and pack project-wise
Multi-vendor supply is easier to receive when it is consolidated in India and packed and labelled project-wise, so site teams are not sorting mixed containers.
5. Plan documents and logistics early
Commercial invoice, packing list, certificates of origin and any importer-side registrations should be agreed with the freight forwarder and customs agent before goods are ready.
